Where should you stay in Charleston at spring break?
On the downtown peninsula, if the trip is about walking, gardens and food. The beaches are a drive from downtown, so staying out there means driving in for most of what you came for.
The historic downtown peninsula is highly walkable, which matters more on a family trip than on any other kind. Being able to get back to where you are staying in the middle of the afternoon changes the whole week.
