Couples and Weekend Getaways

A one-bedroom keeps you central and simple. Suite One and Suite Two both sit over a heated saltwater pool one block from King. Suite One has one free parking space; Suite Two adds a koi-pond courtyard. If you want a two-level hideaway, Cannon 407 is a loft studio tucked down a quiet alley, also one block from King. See all in our Perfect for Couples collection.

Small Groups and Families, Sleeps 4

For four guests, 2 Charles and 18 Carolina both have full kitchens with dishwashers, a real advantage over the kitchenettes in the smaller suites. 18 Carolina is the pick if parking matters, with two free spaces and a quiet deck. The Pool House sleeps four and opens onto the heated-pool courtyard. Browse the Comfort for Small Groups collection.

Large Groups, Reunions and Wedding Parties

118 President Street is the standout: the entire six-bedroom home sleeps sixteen across two apartments, has its own heated plunge pool, two kitchens and six off-street parking spaces, so the whole party stays together. 179 St. Philip E, four bedrooms sleeping around ten, and 33 B Cannon, three bedrooms sleeping eight, are strong mid-size options. 3 Tully has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms across three floors. Stay One Block From King Street

The advantage of the peninsula is simple: once you park, you rarely touch the car again. Most CHC rentals are one block from upper King Street, which means Charleston's best restaurants, coffee and shopping are a two-minute walk from your door.

Every one of our downtown rentals sits in Cannonborough-Elliottborough, the residential historic neighborhood on the upper peninsula, known for cafes, bakeries and easy King Street access.

Our team's own recommendations: grab coffee at Island Provisions, then walk to Chez Nous, Chubby Fish, Bistronomy by Nico or Vern's for dinner, all within a few blocks.

Popular Amenities in Our Downtown Rentals

Amenities vary by property, so confirm the details on each listing. These are the ones guests weigh most.

Free Off-Street Parking

A genuine downtown advantage. 18 Carolina, 179 St. Philip D and 179 St. Philip E each include two free spaces; 118 President offers three per apartment and six for the whole home. Most one-bedrooms include one space. Some driveways have vehicle-size limits, as tight as 6.5 ft wide, so an economy vehicle is safest.

Heated Saltwater Pools

Uncommon downtown, and heated year round rather than seasonally. Suite One, Suite Two, Pool House and Cannon 405 share a heated courtyard pool with a koi pond. 118 President B and the whole home have their own heated plunge pool.

Full Kitchens and Kitchenettes

The whole homes, plus 2 Charles and 18 Carolina, have full kitchens with dishwashers. The smaller suites have well-equipped kitchenettes, most without a dishwasher or full oven, so check the listing if cooking matters.

Laundry, EV Charging and Workspaces

Most homes have a washer and dryer, a laptop-friendly workspace, and a free Tesla and EV charger on or near the property.

Why Book Directly with CHC Vacation Rentals?

Booking directly with CHC gives you our best available direct rate rather than a third-party listing price.

Just as valuable, you deal with the people who actually manage the homes. The team works on-site at 6 Tully Alley and can tell you which unit genuinely fits your group, whether a driveway takes your vehicle, or which properties have full kitchens versus kitchenettes, before you pay. That local knowledge is hard to get through a booking platform.

With a 4.8-star rating across 281 reviews, guests consistently call out how responsive the team is.

What to Know Before Booking a Downtown Charleston Rental

An honest word before you book. Downtown Charleston is a dense, historic city, and staying on the peninsula comes with a few realities.

Parking is Real but Limited

Most rentals include one free space, and driveways can be narrow, some as tight as 6.5 ft wide. Bring an economy vehicle, or you may be directed to the nearest garage. Larger groups: 118 President and the St. Philip homes have the most spaces.

Historic Homes Mean Stairs

Several rentals are multi-story, and a few, including 33 B Cannon and Cannon 407, have spiral staircases. Most downtown units are not wheelchair accessible, so if anyone in your group has mobility needs, ask us first.

Check-in and Rules

Check-in is 4 PM, check-out is 11 AM across all properties. No smoking within 30 feet. Parties are strictly prohibited and will result in eviction. Pets are not permitted at most units.

Minimum Stays

A few homes have a two-night minimum. Cannon 405 is monthly, at 30 nights. Others vary, so check the listing.

Cancellation

CHC uses a strict cancellation policy on its rentals.

We would rather you pick the right property than any property. Call 843.329.2040 and describe your trip.

We were thrilled to stay at the Pool House. It is well-appointed and obviously professionally designed. It was a peaceful alternative to a hotel and truly placed us in the mindset of Charleston. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to come to Charleston on vacation.

Location, location! Right in the heart of Charleston. Great restaurants right around the corner. Clean, neat space. Well stocked with essentials. Comfortable bed. Floor took some getting used to with uneven bricks and cobblestones. Very responsive management to our questions and requests.
