Most weekend rentals in Charleston, SC run Friday to Sunday, which is two nights. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m., so a weekend gives you about 43 hours in the house. Minimum stays differ by home and by date, so the booking calendar decides what your weekend can actually be.
That gap between a Friday afternoon arrival and an 11 a.m. Sunday departure is where most weekend trips go wrong. People plan a full Friday, then find the house is not ready until four, and pack in a rush on Sunday morning. The timing is worth ten minutes before you book.
This guide covers how that timing works, what each CHC home offers, and the questions to settle before you pay. Every property detail below came from that home's own page on chcvacationrentals.com.
Here are the six homes side by side. Between them they have 18 bedrooms, space for 48 guests and 12 off-street parking spaces.

What Does a Two-Night Charleston Weekend Give You?
On a two-night booking you have about 43 hours in the house, from 4 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Sunday. Planning around those two edges is what makes a weekend feel long instead of rushed.
| When | What happens | How to plan for it |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, before 4 p.m. | The home is being cleaned and set up. Early check-in is not guaranteed | Book a late lunch or a walk. Ask us ahead of time whether an early bag drop is possible |
| Friday, 4 p.m. | Check-in | Park in your assigned off-street space, then walk to dinner |
| Saturday | Your one full day | Keep it on foot. Driving to King Street means paying to park there when you already have a space of your own |
| Sunday, 11 a.m. | Check-out. Late check-out is not guaranteed | Pack Saturday night, then do brunch after you leave, not before |
What Is the Minimum Stay for a Weekend?
Two nights at 3 Tully and 179 St. Philip E. Both property pages on chcvacationrentals.com state a 2-night minimum. Other homes set their own minimums, and those change by season and around holidays, so a Friday to Sunday stay is not guaranteed everywhere.
The booking calendar shows the rule for your dates before you pay anything. If a holiday weekend looks blocked, call us on 843.329.2040 and ask what is actually open rather than assuming the whole weekend is gone.
Which Charleston Weekend Rental Fits Your Group?
Start with head count, then check stairs and parking. Each home below lists what it has and the one thing to know first.
2 Charles: A Couple Who Wants a Porch
A two-story apartment one block from upper King Street, with a king bed upstairs and a queen sleeper sofa below. The kitchen has a full range and a dishwasher, and there is a private porch for a glass of wine before dinner.
Know before you book: The dining table seats 2, even though the apartment sleeps 4, and the unit is not wheelchair accessible. One off-street parking space.
Pool House: A Weekend Around the Pool
A two-story villa on a garden courtyard near upper King Street. The courtyard has a saltwater pool that is heated year round, so it is open well beyond the summer months. In winter the water is warm, but the air is not.
Know before you book: The pool and courtyard are shared with other guests. The kitchen is a kitchenette with no oven and no dishwasher, which is fine for a weekend of eating out. One free off-street space and a free EV charger, Tesla-compatible.
3 Tully: Two Couples or a Small Family
A three-story home at the end of a cobblestone alley, one block from upper King Street. Three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a full kitchen, and a 2-night minimum that fits a Friday to Sunday booking.
Know before you book: Stairs are required and the home is not wheelchair accessible.
33 B Cannon: A Group of Friends
A three-floor home in Cannonborough-Elliottborough, three blocks from upper King Street. It sleeps 8 across three bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa, with a full kitchen including an oven and dishwasher.
Know before you book: A spiral staircase connects the floors, and neither bathroom is on the main floor. One free off-street space.
179 St. Philip E: A Big Family Weekend
Four bedrooms and three and a half baths over three floors, one block from upper King Street, with two off-street parking spaces and a 2-night minimum.
Know before you book: There is no formal dining space. The rental starts on the second floor of the building, so expect stairs, and it is not wheelchair accessible. Third-floor ceilings are lower than the rest of the home.
118 President Street: Up to 16 Under One Roof
Two stacked apartments booked together, with six bedrooms, six baths, two kitchens and six off-street parking spaces, four short blocks from King Street. It is the one to book when a wedding weekend or reunion needs everyone in one place.
Know before you book: Parties and events are not allowed. This is somewhere to sleep for a wedding weekend, not somewhere to hold one.

Are There Weekend Beach Rentals in Charleston, SC?
Not from us. Every CHC home is downtown on the Charleston peninsula, and none are on the beach. We would rather say that now than have you find out after booking.
If the weekend is really about the beach, book a beach rental. If it is about the city with one beach afternoon, stay downtown and drive out. Our guide to Folly Beach from downtown covers that trade-off.
Why Book a Weekend House Rental Instead of a Hotel?
For a group, one house beats three hotel rooms on the same hallway. You get a living room to meet in before dinner, a kitchen for Saturday breakfast, and one front door.
For a couple, the case is smaller. A hotel is simpler for one night. For two nights, a porch, a kitchen and a parking space of your own start to add up.
FAQs
Yes. Friday to Sunday is two nights, which meets the 2-night minimum at 3 Tully and 179 St. Philip E. Minimum stays vary by home and can change with the season, so check the listing or call 843.329.2040 before you book.
Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. Early check-in and late check-out are not guaranteed, so plan your Friday arrival and Sunday departure around those two times rather than hoping for flexibility on the day itself.
Yes. Each home has an off-street space, and 179 St. Philip E has two while 118 President Street has six. Ask us where your assigned space is when you book, since not every space sits directly outside its front door.
Not from us. Every CHC home is downtown on the Charleston peninsula, and none of them are on the beach. If you want a beach day, drive out for it. If you want to wake up on the sand, book a beach rental instead.
Plan something for the gap, because early check-in cannot be guaranteed. A late lunch downtown fills a Friday afternoon well. Our airport to downtown guide covers taxis, rideshare and the bus, so you can time the ride into town around 4 p.m.
CHC's property pages describe the cancellation policy as strict. Read the full policy on the listing before you pay, especially for a short weekend, since a two-night booking leaves very little room to shift your dates if your plans change.
